Durango Coffee Company
About This Spot
Stepping into Durango Coffee Company feels like entering a quietly spirited gathering place where the rugged charm of Colorado’s Southwest meets the comforting warmth of a neighborhood café. Nestled on Main Avenue, this spot hums with a gentle, unhurried rhythm that invites you to linger — whether you're here to spark your morning with a carefully crafted espresso or seeking a welcoming nook to work or connect.
The atmosphere blends rustic simplicity with thoughtful details: exposed wood, soft light filtering through large windows, and an approachable, genuine friendliness from the baristas who seem to know that coffee is as much about the moment as the beverage. It’s a place where locals and visitors alike find a shared rhythm in the clink of cups and the soothing steam of expertly frothed milk.
What makes Durango Coffee Company feel unmistakably theirs is the way flavors unfold — from bright, invigorating matchas to the deep, familiar comfort of a mocha latte that tempts you to slow down and savor. Specialty drinks like the “Christmas in a Cup” warm more than just the palate, carrying notes of cinnamon and honey that echo the season’s quiet magic. Meanwhile, fresh-baked treats beckon from the counter, inviting you to pair that perfect cup with a simple oatmeal cookie or a savory slice of Southwest quiche.
Whether it’s a cold nitro pour on a warm afternoon or a cozy corner sip of a vanilla latte, this coffee company creates small moments where the outside world softens, and something steadier takes hold — the pleasure of well-made coffee shared in an atmosphere that feels a bit like home, even if you’re just passing through. The combination of carefully sourced beans, warm service, and a textured ambiance makes it an easy place to revisit again and again.

Out of the 5 weeks I spent roaming around the western states an of all the coffee shops I visited in the 15 states I drove through this one is my favorite and best remembered. The coffee was great, the service was very good and the atmosphere was unique and rustic. I would recommend this place above any in the area. If you are anywhere near Durango, CO and you appreciate good coffee: take a beautiful scenic drive and visit. Also, the walking trails around Durango and the river are very impressive.

Went several times, they have a drink called the Maui fog which I enjoyed. However, they rank up my list for one of the best matchas I’ve had. Bright green and super flavorful.

Best mocha latte I’ve had in a long time! It was perfect! The “sow your oats” cookie was delicious also.

Everything about here is amazing. I stayed in Durango for 3 days and took almost 6/7 cups from them and all were different. Loved the coffee here. I tried Buirjo- it was good, the orange and mix matcha from house speciality was amazing - had twice, cinnamon one was good. Cappuccino and tea was good nothing special but better than all the places out there. It has an amazing place to work. I saw more people working in the cafe at most times.

We went here four times when we traveled through Durango. The ambience/ vibe was cool. The drip coffee was one of the best we had. We also tried the caramel borjia, pistachio latte, oatmeal and ginger cookies which were all spectacular. The service was outstanding each time as well. I will be subscribing to the coffee subscriptions to enjoy it in Texas!

Incredible atmosphere! I could have sat in here all day! The coffee was so good and it was busy with so many interesting and friendly people. Great coffee shop!

I love this place. This is a must for me during visits to Durango, CO. The coffee is decent (although, wouldn’t hurt to offer lighter roasts). The food is pretty versatile for a coffee shop - savory sandwiches, quiches, sweet muffins, cookies and more. I absolutely adore the atmosphere and interior design - book shop, old library, cozy and warm. Plus - there are so many little things made by local artists available for sale.

This has been my coffee spot for years. I love it, this time was even better. I feel like the people working were more friendly. They have a gift shop to look around while you wait on your coffee. And first time I’ve found hemp milk in a while, not even CA or NY could I find it. We had a coconut hemp and blueberry honey hemp latte. So good! Prices seem about normal and it’s always busy but I didn’t feel the wait was bad browsing through the gifts. It is right on Main Street, perfect location.
